Article Processing Charge for 2026
Dear Research Community,
To ensure the sustainability and quality of Ricos Biology Journal while upholding our commitment to equitable open access, we are establishing a transparent fee structure.
Effective for all manuscripts submitted on or after January 1st, 2026, the Article Processing Charge (APC) will be set at 400 USD (US Dollars). This fee will be payable only upon formal acceptance of an article after peer review.
This APC is designed solely to cover the essential costs of rigorous peer-review management, professional production, hosting, archiving, and global indexing. We have deliberately set this rate significantly below the industry average for commercial biology journals to maintain accessibility.
Our Unwavering Commitment to Equity:
A core pillar of our mission is to remove financial barriers for researchers. Our APC will be coupled with a robust, automatic waiver and discount policy:

100% APC Waiver for corresponding authors affiliated with institutions in Low-income economies.

50% APC Discount for corresponding authors in Lower-middle-income economies.
This policy uses the current World Bank Country and Lending Groups classification and is applied automatically upon acceptance. We believe this is a critical step toward a more inclusive scholarly landscape (You can view the current list of country classifications here: World Bank Country and Lending Groups.)
