The immune system is a study in paradoxes—a tireless guardian that can also turn traitor, a localized force with systemic consequences, and a network whose evolution has been shaped as much by parasites as by pathogens. The April 2025 issue of Ricos Biology Journal explores this fascinating duality across the full spectrum of host defense. Our Review Articles navigate cutting-edge terrain, from modern strategies for canine fracture-related osteomyelitis to the "Western anaphylaxis paradox," where helminth-driven IgE modulation may explain allergy resistance in agrarian societies.
